The Standard 1 and Standard 2 Inter-House Competition (IHC) Spell Bee brought vibrant energy and academic enthusiasm to students on September 25, 2026. Designed to spark curiosity, expand vocabulary, and enhance overall language skills, this engaging activity created a supportive yet competitive environment that encouraged young learners to express themselves with confidence. In line with SDG Goal 4: Quality Education, the competition highlighted the institution's commitment to Gem 1 (Academic Excellence) and Gem 9 (Skill Development), empowering students to build strong foundational literacy skills from an early age.
The event unfolded in two thoughtfully structured stages. The journey began in the individual classrooms with Round One, known as The Dictation Challenge. During this preliminary phase, young participants listened closely as a series of age-appropriate words were called out, testing their active listening skills, word recognition, and foundational spelling accuracy. Working with great focus and determination, the students demonstrated remarkable composure as they put their language skills to the test.
Excitement reached its peak as the top five performers from each class and section qualified for the final round held in the Multimedia room. In this ultimate face-off, the finalists took center stage to tackle increasingly challenging vocabulary under the spotlight. Supported by the enthusiastic applause of their peers and teachers, the young spellers displayed an inspiring presence of mind, poise, and quick thinking. The final round proved to be both a thrilling spectacle and a memorable learning journey, leaving a lasting impression on everyone involved and fostering a deeper love for the English language across the early primary grades.
